You can use your donor-advised fund (DAF) to make a one-time gift, or to create a recurring monthly or quarterly gift for even more impact.

You can use stocks, bonds, and mutual funds that have appreciated to support our shared vision. You may receive a charitable income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock (up to a maximum of 30% of your adjusted gross income) and avoid paying the capital gains tax on any increase in the value of the stock.

Would you like to maximize the impact of your giving and encourage other supporters to mobilize on behalf of patients and families? Consider sponsoring a matching gift challenge. Donate a pool of funds to Empath Health, from which we will match any donation made within a given period of time. In this way, you can double the impact of your giving.

You can transfer funds from your IRA directly to your local Empath Health foundation. This is an effective way to have an immediate impact and ensure Empath Health continues its important work. Here’s how it works:

• You must be 70 ½ or older.
• An individual may transfer up to a total of $111,000 per year, and a married couple may give up to $222,000.
• Your gift must be transferred directly from the IRA account to your local Empath Health foundation.
• Your gift is a transfer of funds from your IRA to the foundation, so it does not count as income for the year.
• If you are 73 or older, the transfer of funds counts towards your annual Required Minimum Distribution from your IRA.
